What week are we in?

She's going to kill me when she sees this. I zoomed in this time!

This kid needs to slow down. We are in week 25 already. This is too fast. Since moving into this place I haven't done squat around here to prepare for Peanut's arrival. D'oh. I get the fleeting suspicion that this is how it's going to be for the next two decades. No time. That's fine. Better than sitting around being bored.

We've had to change vehicles...her car is hurting her back too much, so now she has to drive my truck around. I'm sure she's getting better and better at driving stick shift...I haven't heard any stalling out stories.

She drives my 5 speed truck around with no problem, however, getting a mom-mobile that is a 5 speed is out of the question to her. Can I get some other opinions here? I don't think it'll be so bad, however, I've never driven a toddler around and have no idea how much interaction they require. Or, how much distraction they are from driving....I don't think it'll be too much of a problem, because if you ask someone who drives a manual transmission vehicle, they'll tell you that they don't think about shifting, they just shift. At least for me it's very natural and doesn't require any additional processing power from my brain.

Eeeeh. We'll see what happens. Manual transmission is cheaper and better on gas.

Oh, and I was hoping to get a picture of her belly button on here, but she refused me. Her belly button is almost gone. I can barely fit a 1/16th of an inch of my pinky finger in there, whereas before I could probably have gotten my index finger in up to the first knuckle. I begged, I pleaded, alas, no belly button picture.

I think in 2 weeks it's going to be an outtie.

Week 24

Week 24:

Week 24 also happens to be Fathers Day. I celebrated it. Some people may or may not count it saying that I'm not really a father yet, I don't care, I celebrated it anyway. Happy Fathers day to me!

And what a great fathers day it was....went to mass, had breakfast at the greasy spoon down the street, cut the grass, went to the hardware store, had a cookout, washed the vehicles and replaced a screen. It was a great day because I got to do what I wanted to do and hung out with family and friends. I could go on more about it, but I'd rather get back to reading "A Game of Thrones" by George RR Martin.

Adjustmenting

Since I've started popping out in the last month, I'm having to make little adjustments that I'm not used to.

Chris smiles every time I get up out of a chair because he can tell I'm having to put a little more oomph into it.

I am used to turning sideways and sliding through tight spaces, but I'm not judging the width so well anymore. I keep hitting the side view mirror when going to my car in the garage. And when Chris and I ate lunch last week I kept hitting chairs when squeezing between tables. I guess I at least wasn't hitting people in the head with my big belly.

Today I tried out my new swimsuit by lying out in the yard. I threw some towels on the ground, grabbed a book and sat down. Then I realized:

1) I can't lay on my back (it's frowned upon after the 5th month, even though I do catch myself sleeping that way) and
2) I can't lay on my stomach (veeeeeery uncomfortable)

So that leaves laying on my sides. Which makes it hard for me to read and easy for me to fall asleep in the sun. So I mostly sat and turned around at various intervals.

week 23 belly pictures

Here we are, week 23. It might be a little bit accentuated because we just pigged out on cheese fondue with bread and apples.

This week has brought about back pains. This chair isn't comfortable, that chair isn't comfortable, trouble sleeping...it's a little rough.

Oh, and yesterday I did feel Peanut move for the first time. I kept prodding and shaking her stomach to get Peanut to move again, but he wouldn't. Alas, I must wait.

My 'condition'

I have this problem with clearance clothes. Seriously, either everything is ugly or they only have smalls and extra larges. Some people I know find great deals all the time, but not me. So shopping for maternity clothes has been a little rough. I don't want to pay full price for clothes I'll only be wearing for five more months but I know that I need new clothes.

I finally found some good deals at Old Navy. Their regular price clothes are a bit pricey (or I've become the biggest tight wad ever) but I found some gems on sale. No fashion show this time though. I found a pair of jeans! For $10!! Seriously, how hard can it be to find jeans with elastic maternity waists that fit? Really hard. And even these jeans are a bit iffy because they are low rise. Yeah, low rise elastic waist maternity jeans. So bending over or sitting down requires hitching up the pants every time.

I also bought a new hoodie, a couple of tank tops and a swim suit. I don't know how much use the swim suit will see, but it was $15 and fit. It totally looks like a mom swimsuit though. It has been a long time since I've worn a one piece swimsuit.

On a side note, I am just popping out. A month ago people were asking if I was ever going to show. Now I have people walking up and saying they just found out. I offered a teacher help in taking down decorations in her room. She was on a ladder taking off pictures from above the board. She told me that a woman in my condition shouldn't be doing that. This coming from someone who is suffering from back pain and arthritis! Ah well, it's nice that people care.

baby names

Since we've been so tight lipped about baby names, we thought we'd share a few that have made the top of our list (we've included middle names where ever we want):

1. Angus Magyver
2. Anakin
3. Eddie (Pearl Jam band member)
4. Stone (Pearl Jam band member)
5. Neo
6. Darth
7. Parker Peter (intentionally reversed...I wouldn't want to copy someone else's idea!)
8. Tazer
9. Rand
10. Perrin
11. Matrim
12. Rhurac
13. Mandragoran
14. Fred and George (if twin boys)
15. w00t LMAO
16. Wapak
17. Wigwam
18. Toledo

I just can't remember the last 2 to round out the list of 20. Darn it!

Any suggestions?

week 22

Look at it! It's huge!

Week 22:

I can't believe we are in week 22. It's a bit surprising to me. I was reading the wife's blog and at the top she's got this meter that shows how far along the baby is and I was taken aback by how far along Peanut is.

My co-worker was giving me some pearls of wisdom the other night and said to watch out because the 9th month is pure evilness. Which seems understandable.

Oh, and there is regular movement down there now. Of course, it takes Amanda by surprise each time and makes her jump. I haven't felt it yet, but I'm sure that'll happen soon. I'd probably jump too.
