6 Months and some Firsts

Josie turned 6 months on Christmas Day. That's how we remember her birthday, it's on Jesus's half birthday.


We had to wait for the holidays to end before getting her in for her check up. Once again, she's a healthy baby girl.
Weight: 16 lbs, 5.5 oz. - 75th percentile
Height: 25.5 in. - 50th percentile
Head: 16.5 in.

While there, I proudly told of how Josie doesn't need to stand and cruise around on the furniture because she rolls so darn well. Seriously, I've nearly lost her a few time as she rounds a corner or hides under the Christmas tree.

When Chris brought the Christmas decorations out of the attic, he also brought out the Jumperoo. Josie took to it straight away, jumping and grabbing at the hanging birds and even getting turned around. We kept making comments about how Xander took a while to warm up to the Jumperoo and we just watched Josie in awe of her mad jumping skillz (that's right, skillz with a z).


We've said Xander loves Josie, he hugs her, picks up her toys and hands them back, even tries to share his food with her. Josie is now interactive enough that we can see she loves Xander right back. She gets the happiest smile on her face whenever he goes up to her and laughs when he plays with her, like holding her hand to help her dance. Of course she smiles when he is on the naughty step, so maybe she just likes to smile.


Josie's first tooth arrived today! Lo and behold, it was one of the bottom, center teeth. Many others seem ready to arrive.

So between the anticipation of teeth and turning 6 months, we are trying some purees with Josie. We tried a little rice cereal first, which mostly got an amused reaction from her, like she found our efforts to feed her laughable. Sweet potatoes and peas went ok.


Grean beans did not go well.


And since I received a food mill for Christmas I am already making baby food and freezing it for future consumption.
